Privacy Policy

ROEM ("ROEM," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Lucrative Merchants LLC, respects your privacy. This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the ROEM website, web app, and any ROEM mobile application.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — when you sign in with Google or by email, we receive your email address and, if available, your name and profile photo.
• Profile & preferences — your home city, search radius, and the taste preferences you set or that we infer from your activity, used to personalize recommendations.
• Content you create — reviews, ratings, crew names, crew messages, and venues you save or share with a crew.

Information collected automatically

• Location — with your permission, your device's precise location (GPS) to show what's nearby. If you don't grant permission, we use your home city or an approximate location derived from your IP address. You can turn off precise location at any time in your device settings.
• Usage & device data — pages viewed, actions taken, browser/device type, and similar log information used to operate and improve the service.
• Cookies & local storage — we use browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your session. See our Cookie Policy.

Payment information

Membership payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number; Stripe handles card data directly. We retain limited records such as your subscription status and a Stripe customer identifier.

2. How we use your information

• Provide, personalize, and improve ROEM, including recommendations tuned to your taste and location.
• Operate Crews — shared picks, group chat, and group recommendations.
• Process memberships and payments, and manage your subscription.
• Communicate with you about your account, security, and updates.
• Maintain safety and security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with law.

3. Our AI concierge (Mischief)

When you chat with Mischief, your messages are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate responses. Please don't share sensitive personal information in chats. Mischief's suggestions are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete — always verify details like hours, age requirements, and pricing with the venue.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate ROEM, and only as needed:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of your account data.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Anthropic — AI responses for the Mischief concierge.
• Google — sign-in (OAuth), if you choose it.
• Netlify — website and application hosting.
• Map providers — to display maps and directions.

We may also disclose information to comply with the law, enforce our Terms, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Crew content (such as messages and shared picks) is visible to other members of that crew.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We retain certain records (such as transaction history) where required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data as described in our Account & Data Deletion page.

6. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update profile details in the app, manage your subscription through the billing portal, and delete your account at any time (see Account & Data Deletion). To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@roem.app.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA) and residents of the EEA/UK (GDPR) have additional rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Children

ROEM is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it, and at least the legal drinking age in your location to use features related to alcohol. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International users

ROEM is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here with a revised "Last updated" date, and for material changes we'll provide additional notice where appropriate.
